At OHC, we don’t take ourselves too seriously, but we take our home repair and handyman work very seriously!
It's simple. We enjoy helping people with expert home repair and handyman services that our customers truly value and in which we take great pride! We believe in uncompromising integrity, honesty, and reliability in everything we do. If we can't fix it, we'll let you know—and, we probably know someone who can.
Looking to replace those old kitchen faucets or bath and shower fixtures?
Are you tired of the old pull-up drain plug, or perhaps you're missing a drain plug altogether?! You might even be considering a whole new sink basin.
Consider changing or replacing your current switching with dimmers, or if you prefer, you can add new ones.
Do you want to replace what you have or add one in a space where there isn't one now? Our expert home repair team can take care ot it.
Do you have broken or loose tiles that needs fixing or replacing? Perhaps you have a corner that is uneven, creating a tripping hazard or a painful surface to walk on?
Enhance the look of your space with a thorough cleaning that sharpens and brightens your tile floor.
Grout can wear out sooner rather than later if it, or the subfloor, was not properly installed. Missing, cracked or broken grout can leak water into the subfloor below, potentially leading to wood rot. A proper grout sealant will further reduce moisture and mildew from building up.
Looking to enhance the look of your knobs, levers, and locks, or perhaps you're considering an upgrade to a remote lock system? These updates can also be part of broader Age In Place Modifications to make your home more accessible.
These essential life-saving devices must be regularly checked to ensure they function correctly and are located where they are needed.
Are your stairs looking tired with an outdated rail, or are you considering adding a simple one to improve safety or address Age-In-Place modifications? We can replace or add them for you.
Consider adding a pet door or a vent for your laundry room door? This small addition can enhance convenience for both you and your pet.
Modifications for aging in place, such as installing grab bars, replacing door knobs with levers, updating drawer handles, or adding wheelchair ramps, are essential.
A deck replacement may not be necessary when repair and refinishing can do the trick.
Over time, deck planks that have not been properly sealed and maintained will crack, rot, and eventually break under minimal pressure. These issues are serious safety hazards and should be addressed as soon as possible. Depending upon the overall deck condition, it may be most cost-effective to remove and replace the rotted boards, followed by cleaning, brightening, and restaining.
If your deck boards are in good shape, or have been recently repaired, these treatments can bring new life to your out

Growing up the son of an Industrial Arts teacher in rural Virginia, I watched, learned, and worked with my dad and saw the importance and value of understanding how things worked, figuring out a solution, applying developed skills to fix what is broken, and not quitting until the work is done - correctly. He built our house along with a few subcontractors, and we never had to call a handyman for anything; that was my dad!
That foundation and work ethic carried through my education and translated well into a 39-year career as a Civil Engineer, and as a Real Estate Developer of both Commercial and Residential properties, where my roles always included managing construction. Throughout, I have continued learning and honing skills, incorporating technology where beneficial, and have been blessed to share those skills in managing and working alongside crews, a number of church additions, and halfway houses for those in need. Talk about rewarding stuff.
Retirement from the development business has enabled me to start Orange Hammers Contracting, where we help individuals and families with their handyman and home repair needs, giving them peace of mind and satisfaction so they can focus on the parts of life that matter to them.
Don't fret about your home repair to-do list anymore. Check out some of our work, contact us, and we'll help you get the job done right! And yes, we really use Orange Hammers!
